Tiger Pride
TIGER PRIDE HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR THE YEAR.
Tiger Pride has been an ongoing club since 1992. Over the years more than 1500 children have participated in Tiger Pride, with more than 150 children serving in the leadership role of Tiger Pride Captain. These children have worked hard to maintain the Nature Trail, create an environmental haven for birds and animals, enhance the bog, and add birdhouses, trees, and plants to our schoolgrounds. Through the SCA and Tiger Pride, our school has planted more than 30 trees, completed an outdoor amphitheater, added a brick patio, placed a gazebo on the school grounds, and found volunteers to help mulch the Nature Trail every year.
Tiger Pride is a club that focuses on enhancing our school grounds. Students are given leadership opportunities by filling bird feeders, pulling weeds, mulching, planting flowers, and picking up litter. When weather permits, Tiger Pride members may paint picnic tables. Each month a Tiger Pride Captain is chosen who helps lead the group's activities.
Tiger Pride is an ongoing club from Sept.-June, and it is held after school on Tuesdays. A selected group of students, usually 5th graders, are invited to participate in Tiger Pride. Membership in Tiger Pride is revolving, and students typicllay participate for 3 weeks. This allows for as many as 80 children to participate over the course of the school year.
Tiger Pride always welcomes donations, such as bird seed, bird feeders (easy to open and fill for children), flower bulbs and annuals, bagged mulch, and more. If you would like to make a donation to Tiger Pride please drop it off in the school office. Thanks! Tiger Pride is a great way for students to participate in a community service activity, carry out positive leadership activities, and care about the environment.
